Hermann Küning de Vach,monk of the monastery of the Vacha Servite Order (Germany) drafted in 1495 a pilgrim's guide that collects places, distances, tips and useful information for pilgrimage Santiago de Compostela.
This guide, addressed mainly to German pilgrims, published on 5 occasions, bears witness to the importance of the pilgrimage to Compostela through this variant of the French Way by Lugo at the end of the 15th century.
Through his verses we discover stories and legends about the way and his own experience as a pilgrim.

The itinerary followed by Hermann Küning begins in the German city of Vachaand enters into the Iberian Peninsula through Roncesvalles.Just at the entrance to Galicia, in Herrerías de Valcárcel, turn off at Piedrafita, where you will find accommodation in our «As Miguiñas do Cebreiro», and continue through As Nogais, Becerrea, Baralla and O Corgo, to the city of Lugowhere it joins the route of the Primitive Way to Santiago de Compostela.
